About the team and the role:
eBay’s Memory initiative is chartered to turn eBay into a highly personalized shopping destination that cannot be easily disintermediated by shopping agents. We’re building durable, user-centric memory across the stack, from ML and back-end systems to front-end experiences, to deliver highly relevant - both contextually and personally - shopping journeys from discovery to conversion and post purchase.
We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Product Manager who is a strong generalist, eager and quick to learn different parts of the stack, and who thrives at the intersection of ML/back-end systems and experience design. You will work with creative and technical partners across design, content, analytics, and engineering to define and deliver end-to-end memory-powered experiences that differentiate eBay. If you excel at building relationships, navigating complex partner landscapes, and driving outstanding execution across multiple concurrent projects, this role is for you.
What you will accomplish:
- Champion the Memory product vision, strategy, and roadmap to deliver deeply personalized shopping experiences that resist agent disintermediation.
- Partner with science and engineering to design and evolve core memory capabilities (signals, features, embeddings, data pipelines, APIs, memory graph) that power retrieval, ranking, and relevance.
- Translate memory signals into user-facing surfaces in collaboration with design and content — home, search, browse, recommendations, notifications — with clear user value and measurable outcomes.
- Define world-class success metrics and experimentation strategy (A/B tests, offline metrics, guardrails); drive continuous improvement across relevance, engagement, and GMV.
- Lead cross-functional planning and execution across design, content, analytics, science, and engineering; align partners, lead dependencies, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Write crisp PRDs and decision docs; maintain backlogs; run agile rituals; systematically unblock teams and handle risk.
- Champion privacy, safety, and responsible personalization (data governance, opt-ins, regional requirements) while improving user value.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of Product Management (or equivalent) building consumer or platform products at scale, with a strong record of end-to-end delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly across domains (ML/personalization, data, back-end APIs, UX) and translate technical concepts into customer value.
- Hands-on experience with personalization or ML-driven features (signals, feature stores, data pipelines, experimentation, evaluation metrics).
- Familiarity with back-end/platform systems and APIs; comfortable working closely with engineering and analytics partners.
- Excellent program leadership: planning, prioritization, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration across design/content/analytics/engineering.
- User-centric mindset and experience design fluency; adept at iterating with design partners toward measurable outcomes.
If you thrive on significant ownership, high visibility, and the chance to build the future of e-commerce through durable, differentiated personalization, we’d love to talk.
