IT Support Specialist

Company: DXP Canada

Reports To: IT Manager

Location: Calgary, AB

Position Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to staff, ensuring hardware, software, and network systems operate efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software
  • Respond to and resolve user issues via phone, in person, or electronically
  • Log, track, and manage bugs and enhancement requests
  • Install, configure, and update hardware and software as needed
  • Image and deploy desktop and laptop computers
  • Maintain and update online tips, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base documentation
  • Deliver introductory online and classroom training for company products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner using available internal resources

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in IT support or desktop support
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests effectively

Technical Requirements

  • Windows 10 & 11
  • Active Directory / Azure AD
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft Office 365 (O365)
  • Desktop support experience
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS
  • Familiarity with Polycom and Cisco WebEx
