The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Litigation Associate (2–4 years’ call) to join our growing Alberta team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a litigation practice within a well‑established insurance defence group while receiving hands‑on mentorship and increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities
- Supporting and progressively managing litigated insurance defence files through all stages of litigation, with increasing autonomy under the guidance and mentorship of senior counsel
- Assisting with and, as experience permits, conducting questionings, mediations, and chambers applications
- Contributing to the strategic management of complex and high‑profile matters
- Maintaining strong client service standards, including timely reporting and file management
- Meeting billable and non‑billable expectations within a busy, team‑oriented defence practice
- Participating in professional development and business development activities consistent with practice growth

The Ideal Candidate
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- 2–4 years of post‑call civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defence, either in private practice or in‑house. Construction litigation experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with Alberta Rules of Court and litigation procedures
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, combined with sound professional judgment
- Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills and a practical, service‑oriented approach
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy practice
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team‑based insurance defence environment
