The Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE) is an academic research centre based in Duke-NUS Medical School. We bring together interdisciplinary expertise spanning public health, demography, anthropology, sociology, epidemiology and psychology, to conduct community‑engaged research on the determinants of healthy ageing.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and knowledge translation: Code and analyse qualitative data, and turn findings into compelling visuals, narratives, and accessible outputs for stakeholders.
- Writing and dissemination: Draft research reports, policy briefs and manuscripts for academic publication and public audiences.
- Project coordination: keep projects on track — manage timelines, expenses, IRB approvals, data collection, transcription, procurement, and relationships with stakeholders and community partners.
- Fieldwork and Data Collection: Conduct in-depth interviews, moderate focus group discussions, and facilitate co‑design workshops with diverse communities.
- Support CARE’s broader initiatives and events.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Research Assistant) / Master’s Degree (Research Associate), or equivalent, in the social sciences or public health — including but not limited to Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Public Health, or Nursing.

- Strong sense of ethical responsibility and cultural sensitivity when working with older adults and/or vulnerable populations.
- Familiar with local ageing, health, and/or social policy contexts in Singapore.
- Possess genuine interest in conducting both evaluation and exploratory research that shapes policies and programmes relevant to population ageing.
- Commit to strengthening qualitative research capabilities in the ageing and healthcare sector.
