Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean FreightRole OverviewThe Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing new and existing business opportunities within air and ocean freight services. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, expanding market presence, and delivering tailored logistics solutions. Particular vertical emphasis on Retail/FMCG, Automotive, Industrial, Healthcare, and High Tech, with air and ocean freight playing a critical role for:Cross‑border US-Canada tradeTranspacific and transatlantic lanesProject and time‑critical logistics Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, target, and secure new business opportunities in air and ocean freightManage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and contract closureDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholdersCreate customized freight and supply chain solutions aligned with customer needsCollaborate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless executionPrepare and present sales proposals, RFQs, and pricing strategiesMeet or exceed revenue, volume, and gross profit targetsMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategyMaintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasts using CRM toolsRequired QualificationsMinimum 5+ years of business development or sales experience in air and ocean freightStrong understanding of international trade, Incoterms, and freight forwarding operationsProven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targetsEstablished industry network and client relationshipsExcellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environmentKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)New business revenue and gross profit growthClient acquisition and retention ratesPipeline development and conversion ratiosContract renewal and account expansionPreferred Skills & ExperienceExperience with key verticals such as retail, consumer goods, industrial, or F&BFamiliarity with contract logistics or value-added supply chain servicesProficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics toolsWorking ConditionsHybrid or remote flexibility - Mississauga, Ontario Frequent client meetings and occasional travelPerformance-driven culture with strong support from cross-functional teams
