DevOps / Cloud Engineer - AWS Migration Focus (6-Month Contract)

About Us

We are a growing B2B SaaS company providing a shop management web application for

automotive maintenance businesses, specifically oil change shops. Our technology stack

includes Laravel/PHP, PostgreSQL, Redis, React, Node.js, and Linux-based infrastructure.

We are preparing for a major migration to AWS and are looking for a hands-on DevOps / Cloud

Engineer with experience supporting AWS migrations in production environments.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys infrastructure, scaling, reliability,

deployment automation, and systems engineering.

Initial Project

Support and implement migration of production infrastructure to AWS, including:

● AWS architecture planning and implementation

● Infrastructure design and deployment

● Infrastructure as Code

● Networking and security configuration

● CI/CD pipeline improvements

● Database migration planning and execution

● High availability and disaster recovery planning

● Monitoring and observability setup

● Deployment automation

● Rollback and failover planning

● Performance and cost optimization

Ongoing Responsibilities

After the migration, this role will continue as an ongoing DevOps / infrastructure engineering role

involving:

● AWS infrastructure management

● CI/CD pipeline maintenance and improvements

● Monitoring and alerting

● Production reliability and uptime

● Scaling and performance tuning

● Database operations and backups

● Security hardening

● Automation and tooling

● Linux server administration

● Supporting development teams with infrastructure-related needs

● Occasional backend development support (PHP, Laravel, etc.)

Required Experience

● Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments

● Experience working on or supporting production infrastructure migrations to AWS

● Strong Linux systems administration background

● Experience with Infrastructure as Code

● Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

● Experience with PostgreSQL operations and backups

● Experience with Redis and caching systems

● Experience with Docker/containerized applications

● Strong understanding of networking, VPCs, IAM, load balancers, DNS, and security

groups

● Experience designing highly available systems

● Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Nice to Have

● Experience with Laravel/PHP applications

● Experience with Node.js and WebSockets

● Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms

● Experience working in security-conscious or compliance-focused environments

● Is comfortable owning infrastructure implementation decisions
