About The Role
Draganfly Innovations is on the lookout for a Lead Accountant to join our Finance team on a 16-month maternity leave coverage. This is a fully remote position reporting to the VP, Finance. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on cost accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership.
This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and audit processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while contributing to the overall success of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze financial records, systems, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Support month-end close processes and prepare financial statements
Assist with internal and external audits
Reconcile accounting discrepancies and resolve financial imbalances
Maintain and support the general ledger across all areas
Provide guidance and training to accounting and finance team members
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and reporting
Contribute to process improvements and ongoing efficiency within the finance function

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience in cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory costing
Proven experience leading or supporting accounting teams and operations
Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audits
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel
Compensation package:
Competitive salary: $80,000 – $90,000
