Working Hours: 6:30 PM- 3:30 A.M Indian Standard Time (8:00 AM- 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time)

Job Description

As a Backend Engineer at Dozti, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the backend systems that connect our internal tools, third-party platforms, and databases. Your primary focus will be API integrations, database design and management, and building in-house automations that streamline operations across the company.

This role is ideal for a systems-minded engineer who enjoys working behind the scenes to make platforms reliable, scalable, and efficient. You will play a key role in ensuring data flows correctly between systems, automations run reliably, and internal teams have the infrastructure they need to operate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that integrate third-party APIs and internal systems.
• Implement and manage integrations with tools such as CRMs, communication platforms, payment systems, and internal services.
• Build and maintain in-house automation workflows to support operations, reporting, and internal processes.
• Design, optimize, and manage relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) for structured operational and business data.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and performance across systems.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and secure API access (e.g., OAuth, API keys).
• Monitor, log, and troubleshoot backend services and automation workflows.
• Work closely with operations and leadership teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Document backend systems, APIs, and workflows for long-term maintainability.
• Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of experience in backend engineering or similar roles.
• Strong experience working with APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
• Solid understanding of database design and management, particularly relational databases.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js or Python preferred).
• Experience building or maintaining automation workflows or backend jobs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of backend systems.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom workflow engines.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and operational data models.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Exposure to AI or data processing services (e.g., transcription, summarization, analytics).
• Experience with internal tooling, dashboards, or reporting systems.
