Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our team.  This role is responsible for identifying and interpreting both internal and external sales trends to drive data-informed decision-making.  This position will analyze historical results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. This individual will report to the Director of Finance and will work cross-functionally across several key areas of the business including Finance, Marketing, Decision Science, and others.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, market intelligence, and business strategy, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Analyze Market Trends

  • Analyze internal sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern across products, channels, regions, and customer segments.
  • Monitor external market conditions, competitor performance, and industry trends to inform strategic planning and aid in forecast predictions

Report & Forecast

  • Develop and maintain advanced forecasting models and tools, incorporating relevant data such as market trends, promotional activities, economic indicators, and competitive analysis
  • Regularly communicate sales forecasts and insights to key stakeholders, including senior management
  • Generate reports and presentations summarizing sales forecasts, performance analysis, and recommendations for management review and decision-making
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track sales performance metrics and KPIs
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations and reports for senior leadership, offering data-driven recommendations to support strategic decisions
  • Evaluate the impact of past initiatives and campaigns to inform future sales strategies
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience within finance, economics, statistics or related field
  • Experience in a data analysis or business strategy role, ideally in sales analytics or a related function
  • Demonstrates strong financial knowledge and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates high level of discretion and confidentiality in their work
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI.  Hyperion & Peoplesoft (preferred)
  • Experience working with large datasets and statistical or predictive modeling techniques is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset
