Role and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to Store Managers and their teams to consistently exceed performance standards.
  • Champion Dollar General’s mission, vision, and values throughout every store in your district.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high achievement.
  • Lead efforts in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing top talent to build a high-impact team.

Sales & Financial Performance

  • Maximize district profitability by driving sales, reducing costs, and optimizing merchandising and inventory practices.
  • Review and assess financial data to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable strategies.
  • Promote steady business growth through well-executed operational planning and demand forecasting.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure all district stores deliver a consistent and exceptional shopping experience with a customer-centric approach.
  • Monitor customer feedback and guide teams in creating solutions that improve overall satisfaction.

Operational Execution

  • Oversee product availability and visual presentation to maintain a well-stocked and inviting store environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with company procedures, safety policies, and operational best practices.
  • Manage staffing and scheduling to balance efficiency with service needs.

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Identify new opportunities to improve store performance, merchandising, and space utilization.
  • Collaborate with store leadership teams to roll out regional and national strategies.
  • Stay responsive and flexible in adapting to market changes and organizational priorities.

Loss Prevention & Compliance

  • Protect company assets by upholding strict loss prevention practices, safety protocols, and cash control measures.
  • Conduct regular operational reviews and audits to ensure adherence to policies and standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in managing multiple retail locations.
  • Proven success in overseeing P&L, driving sales performance, and managing inventory and operational costs.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with a focus on development and accountability.
  • Advanced financial literacy and ability to interpret and act on key performance data.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record; travel is required.
