Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse and Logistics Assistant to support our distribution operations and our general supervisor. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, heavy equipment operation, and order fulfillment processes. This role involves assisting with shipping and receiving, inventory management, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations to meet production and distribution goals. Prior experience with equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and order pickers is highly desirable. Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport goods safely within the warehouse.
• Assist with shipping & receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and ensuring accurate documentation using systems like AS400.
• Perform order picking, packing, and fulfillment tasks to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Manage inventory levels through accurate stock counting and updating warehouse management systems.
• Support manufacturing processes by handling raw materials and finished goods movement.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment adhering to safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse layout and improve operational efficiency.
• Assist in construction or maintenance tasks as needed for warehouse infrastructure improvements.
• Ensure proper heavy lifting techniques are used to prevent injuries during material handling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse distribution or manufacturing environments.
• Manage equipment, materials, and spare parts for our construction sites, oversee and update the warehouse inventory, and schedule maintenance for our fleet of pickups, trucks, and equipment
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more).
• Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures including load & unload operations.
• Experience with order fulfillment, packaging, and inventory control is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of construction or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
• Prior experience in warehouse experience or logistics roles preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
