Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Access & District Mental Health Services Manager, the Intake Worker is responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of the Access Network and will ensure that completed intakes are distributed to the appropriate agency(s) for further processing. All services provided must be consistent with the philosophy, approach, goals and learning environment established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.
The primary responsibility of this position is to complete all District Children’s Mental Health referrals using Agency and Ministry documentation.
Extensive travel throughout the District of Thunder Bay will be required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum two-year Human Services Diploma is required. HBSW is preferred.
- Experience working with the Child & Adolescent Needs & Strengths (CANS) and Client Information Management System (CIMS) would be considered an asset ;
- Crisis intervention experience would be considered an asset.
- Candidates without the specific education qualifications, but who possess an appropriate combination of child welfare experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Search;
- A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended;
- Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Access & District Mental Health Services Manager in relation to service requirements;
- Travel substantially in the communities and around the District of Thunder Bay
- Must posses a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle.
Hours of Work: 32.5 weekly
