Position Summary

Our NOC personnel are the best in the business, offering a high level of experience and vision. They are deeply experienced in transport design and operations, routing, switching, and they have a hunger for learning opportunities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining a best-in-class NOC environment
  • Actively monitoring and responding to network alarms and perform fault testing.
  • Provisioning, test and turn up functions for customer network circuits.
  • Create and escalate trouble tickets according to NOC standards.
  • Supporting, configuring, and validating DSN network devices: routers, transport, Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, and Network Interface Devices (NIDs)
  • Assisting in executing Methods of Procedures (MOP's) and relevant support documentation for equipment and services
  • Accepts equipment and circuits into monitored status to ensure operational excellence.
  • Application and implementation of Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) standards
  • Outage reporting, troubleshooting, and resolution
  • Mentoring and assisting other departments in technical topics
  • Experience with JIRA or other ticketing systems
  • Completes Reason for Outage (RFO) and incident reports
  • Assist with Maintenance Window activities to perform network changes during off peak hours.
  • On Call Rotation

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have knowledge of the telecom industry, operations, technologies and must be skilled in communications. The combination of education and experience should be significant. This is a hybrid position requiring primarily remote work with some "on premise" support required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience working within a technical support role.
  • Hands-on operational experience with Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems, routing and switching methods and protocols.
  • Experience within a 24/7/365 support environment

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years in a network support role
  • 1-3+ years of Network Operations experience
  • Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, ITIL, NRSI

Working Conditions and Mental or Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position continuously. Will frequently move inside or outside the office space. Position will continuously operate a computer and other office machinery and communicate with others. Occasionally lifts objects up to 30 pounds. Work is performed indoors.
