Job Description
Meet the team:
We’re a multi-disciplinary team of user experience, visual, instructional, and industrial designers. We work closely with design operations, user researchers, and design technology engineers. We create products that have a true impact on the lives of millions of people around the globe.
We’re passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We build delightful and accessible products that display data and insights across multiple platforms. We follow the principles of user-centric design thinking to make data meaningful and actionable for our users.
With this role, you’ll be part of the team focused on our over-the-counter Consumer biosensor products. You’ll design solutions that help users manage their health through data and insights. This includes glucose readings and related metabolic health information (nutrition, activity, sleep, etc.). You’ll work with a variety of stakeholders including Product Management, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, and Medical Affairs from design concept to approvals and delivery.
Where you come in:

You’ll become familiar with the competitive landscape, trends, and the approaches within the consumer health sector.
- You’ll represent and advocate for our patients and users, including healthcare providers and others who support them. You’ll work with key cross-functional stakeholders to understand business priorities, define problem statements, requirements, and user needs. You’ll lead workshops, contribute to strategy discussions, capture design requirements, and clarify feasibility considerations. Your designs will evolve from early-stage concepts and low-resolution wireframes to high-resolution screens and technical flows. You’ll manage design handover to engineering and documentation.
- You’ll translate raw data into meaningful insights. You’ll understand the technical inputs from Dexcom and partner systems, manage feature and system states, and be able to communicate this information effectively to users.
- You’ll help plan and support research and testing activities through collaboration with our User Research and Human Factors teams. You’ll help synthesize research and testing to inform the designs, gather data to support your point of view, and define next steps.
- You’ll lead presentations to cross functional teams and management. Communicate the problem, the opportunity, and the design recommendations. Be a design diplomat. Be welcoming of feedback and navigate respectful disagreement. Seek to inform and influence the audience. Be willing to compromise to find a mutually agreeable solution.
- You’ll work with Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Quality, Legal, and Human Factors teams to ensure compliance with business requirements and definition of risks. You’ll iterate on design mitigations and gain approvals for proposed solutions.
- You’ll help foster a culture of support, continuous improvement, and design excellence within the team and all those who partner with us. Be positive and solutions oriented. Build up our teams, departments, and company through words and actions. Learn from existing members of the team and mentor your colleagues.
