The Agent and Copilot Accelerated Experiences Design team is focused on shaping that future by exploring how AI can meaningfully support, augment, and inspire employees in their everyday work.
Microsoft is seeking a Product Designer who is excited by this transformation and curious about how AI-powered tools can create more intuitive and empowering employee experiences. This role is ideal for a designer with strong visual design skills, a passion for learning, and a curiosity for experimenting with emerging technologies.
You will turn abstract ideas into tangible experiences, working hands-on in Figma to build early concepts, interaction models, and lightweight prototypes. You will explore how AI can transform workflows, systems, and digital surfaces used by employees across organizations.
This position combines rapid concept exploration with collaborative product design, helping teams envision future AI experiences while also improving existing products.
What You’ll Work On
- Rapidly ideate and prototype concepts illustrating future AI-powered employee experiences
- Collaborate with feature teams to identify opportunities to improve clarity, efficiency, and usability across products
- Design early-stage interaction models and prototypes to explore AI-assisted workflows
- Translate abstract ideas into concrete product experiences
- Partner closely with designers, engineers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists
- Contribute to product discovery and foundational research initiatives
- Apply research insights to shape design concepts and product improvements
Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and data scientists to explore AI-driven product experiences
- Support usability testing and apply research findings to improve designs
- Contribute to foundational research and transform insights into actionable design explorations
Compelling Communication & Storytelling
- Clearly communicate design ideas, starting with the user problem and needs
- Present design solutions through visuals, prototypes, and clear narratives
- Collaborate with teams who may have limited context or competing priorities, requiring strong clarity and storytelling skills
Product Thinking
- Develop an understanding of employee workflows, constraints, and organizational goals
- Evaluate how AI-powered design decisions affect usability, trust, and product adoption
- Bridge human needs, technology capabilities, and business goals through thoughtful design decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field
OR equivalent professional experience in product or service design
- Experience designing and prototyping in Figma
- Resume must include a portfolio link (and password if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, HCI, UX, Interaction Design, or related field
- 1+ years relevant internship or professional experience (Master’s degree pathway)
- OR 2+ years professional product or service design experience (Bachelor’s degree pathway)
- Experience shipping products through an end-to-end design process
- Strong visual design skills
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities
Compensation
Product Design IC2 Salary Range (Canada):
$67,100 – $131,400 CAD annually
