Position Summary The Sales Manager will work closely with the Sales Director and the Founders of Design Democracy.
He / She will be responsible for driving revenue through the acquisition of exhibitors and sponsors for the upcoming editions of the festival. This role requires a results-oriented professional capable of managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to prospecting to contract negotiation and account management.
Key Responsibilities
● Business Development: Identify, prospect, and secure high-value exhibitors across key design categories such as furniture, lighting, flooring, and luxury lifestyle sectors.
● Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide regular reports on lead status, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts.
● Sponsorship Sales: Develop and sell customized sponsorship packages including branding rights, and digital activations.
● Client Retention: Manage existing accounts and ensure high levels of exhibitor satisfaction to encourage repeat participation.
● Collaboration: Coordinate with the marketing and operations teams to ensure exhibitor deliverables are met and the event floor plan is optimized.
● Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new growth opportunities within the luxury design market.
Required Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
● Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within luxury trade shows luxury retail, or Architecture and interior Design industry.
● Skills:
○ Understanding of the design ecosystem.
○ Exposure to brand hierarchy and brand legacy.
○ Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives to present to potential clients.
○ Strong negotiation and closing techniques.
○ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
○ Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant tools (Canva).
○ Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
