Job Description
A Senior Flight Controls & GNC Engineer opportunity is now available in Arlington, VA, with hybrid flexibility and exciting travel to flight test ranges. This is a high-impact role with an employee-owned, high-technology engineering company supporting advanced airborne ISR, fixed wing UAS, avionics, and flight controls automation projects in a small, agile engineering environment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Flight Controls & GNC Engineer position include:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of direct experience with fixed wing UAS flight controls, autopilot development, GNC implementation, and flight testing
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance required.
- Serve as the lead focal point for flight control automation across multiple fixed wing platforms.
- Lead, manage, hire, develop, and support a technical team focused on Flight Controls and GNC Automation.
- Execute HIL/SIL, ground, and flight test activities while troubleshooting hardware/software interfaces.
- Perform data analysis for developmental and operational efforts tied to risk management, safety workflows, and product support.
- Use C++, software configuration management tools, version control systems, defect tracking tools, and peer review workflows.
Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
