Job Description

Position Summary

The Lead NOC Engineer, (Microsoft Intune Expert) is a senior technical leader responsible for overseeing workplace technology operations at an assigned site. This role serves as the on-site IT lead, managing escalations, directing a small team of IT Services Engineers, and leading IT initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and user experience.

A key priority for this role is serving as the technical lead for the organization’s Microsoft Intune deployment and mobile device management strategy, particularly as the company upgrades and expands its mobile device (cell phone) management capabilities. This individual will play a central role in endpoint modernization, automation, and device lifecycle governance.

Location, schedule, pay

  • 3100 E. Plano Pkwy., Plano, TX 75074
  • On-site Monday - Friday, 1st shift 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Base pay: $90K - $95K + 15% yearly bonus target

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Site Leadership

  • Serve as the on-site IT lead for a designated location, shift, or team.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Oversee workload distribution and ensure SLA adherence.
  • Provide operational coverage in the absence of the IT Services Manager as needed.

Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Strategy (Critical Focus)

  • Lead implementation, optimization, and ongoing administration of Microsoft Intune, including mobile device management (iOS and Android) and Windows endpoint configuration.
  • Manage policies related to device enrollment, compliance, conditional access, app deployment, and security baselines.
  • Support and enhance corporate mobile device rollout initiatives, including provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with security and infrastructure teams to ensure Intune aligns with enterprise compliance and security standards.

Automation & Scripting

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell (strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of VBScript or Python for process automation, reporting, or endpoint configuration.
  • Automate repetitive IT workflows, device configurations, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and consistency.

Technical Expertise

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support across Windows environments (with some macOS exposure).
  • Administer and support enterprise tools including:
  • Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory
  • Endpoint Central
  • Jira Service Management
  • Zoom
  • Apply networking fundamentals and security best practices to endpoint and workplace systems.

Project & Process Ownership

  • Lead IT initiatives such as system deployments, automation improvements, and workplace technology upgrades.
  • Analyze service processes and implement operational improvements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and technical documentation.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and guide junior IT Services Engineers.
  • Direct task prioritization and promote accountability within the team.
  • Maintain strong customer service standards and communication across all employee levels.

Qualifications / Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team in NOC, IT support, workplace services, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading IT projects or serving as a site/team lead.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and administering Microsoft Intune in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing corporate mobile device deployments and compliance enforcement.
  • Experience directing the work of junior engineers.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft certifications related to endpoint management or Azure (e.g., MD-102, AZ-104, MS-900)
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+
  • ITIL Foundation or similar service management certification

Core Competencies

  • Expert-level troubleshooting in Windows enterprise environments
  • Strong Microsoft Intune administration and mobile device management expertise
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; working knowledge of VBScript or Python
  • Endpoint management and automation mindset
