Policy Reporter

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Policy Reporter to join our dedicated journalism team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of uncovering, analyzing, and communicating policy developments that impact America. Your energetic approach to storytelling will help inform and engage a diverse audience through compelling written content, multimedia reports, and social media engagement. Responsibilities

• Research and analyze policy issues across local, national, and international levels, ensuring accuracy and depth of understanding.
• Write clear, engaging articles that adhere to AP style guidelines, highlighting key facts and context for a broad audience.
• Participate in multimedia content including photography, videography, and video production to complement written stories.
• Edit and proofread all content meticulously to maintain high journalistic standards, fact-checking every detail before publication.
• Understand and engage social media platforms by creating shareable content, engaging with followers, and promoting stories effectively.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, videographers, and other journalists to develop comprehensive coverage of policy topics.
• Stay informed on current events and policy trends through continuous research and networking within relevant communities.

Experience

• Proven experience in journalism or reporting with a strong portfolio demonstrating investigative skills and storytelling ability.
• Proficiency in AP style for clear and consistent writing aligned with journalistic standards.
• Strong research skills with an eye for detail; experience in fact checking and copy editing is essential.
• Excellent communication skills for interviewing sources and collaborating within a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
