Technical Writer

Our client is seeking a Technical Writer with an active DoD Secret clearance to join a high-performing team in Elkridge, MD.

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical publications covering operation and maintenance for sensors/systems. - Research and compile information from contractual and engineering sources and develop technical publications that adhere to military specifications and standards.
• Publish technical publications including hardware description, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting and repair, and parts information for a wide range of audiences.
• Collaborate with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors, to develop and deliver sensor/system technical publications to varying levels of detail.
• Conduct quality review of technical publications.

Required Skills

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Possess and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline or related field or minimum of 7 years- experience in military operations and maintenance with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks and information technology-based sensors/systems
• Able and willing to perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions
• Able and willing to travel to domestic and international sites to support program tasks when/if required
• Possess excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Be self-motivated, proactive and detail oriented.
• Possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• Possess the ability to publish materials in page-based, electronic (basic and interactive), and structured (HTML, XML, and SGML) formats and has experience writing to military specifications and standards.
