Faculty Position – Western Contemporary Vocal (Full-Time / Part-Time)

About Crossroads School of Music
Crossroads School of Music (CRSM) is one of Kerala's leading music education institutions, dedicated to providing world-class music education through structured learning, performance opportunities, and artistic excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Western Contemporary Vocal Faculty to join our academic team.
We are looking for an experienced vocalist and educator who can train students in contemporary vocal performance while developing healthy and sustainable vocal techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured Western Contemporary Vocal training to children, teenagers, and adults.
- Teach and develop:
- Breath management and support
- Voice projection techniques
- Belting techniques and safe belt development
- Mixed voice coordination
- Chest voice, head voice, and vocal register transitions
- Resonance and tone production
- Vocal agility and flexibility
- Pitch accuracy and ear training
- Vocal stamina and endurance
- Diction and articulation
- Performance psychology and stage confidence
- Microphone technique and live performance skills
- Harmony singing and ensemble performance
- Vocal health and injury prevention
- Train students in contemporary genres such as:
- Pop
- Rock
- Musical Theatre
- R&B
- Soul
- Contemporary Worship Music
- Singer-Songwriter Styles
- Prepare students for:
- International music examinations
- Concerts and recitals
- Competitions and auditions
- Professional stage performances
- Monitor student progress and maintain academic records.
- Participate in faculty development programs, concerts, workshops, and institutional events.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Western Vocal Music.
- Certification from a recognized music examination board such as:
- Trinity College London
- ABRSM
- Rockschool (RSL)
- London College of Music (LCM)
- Berklee Online
- Or equivalent recognized certification body.
- Strong practical understanding of modern vocal pedagogy and contemporary vocal techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to teach voice projection, belting, mixed voice, vocal styling, and performance techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Western Music (Vocal) or related specialization.
- Formal training in Vocal Pedagogy.
- Experience in choir conducting, vocal ensembles, or band coaching.
- Professional performing experience as a vocalist.
- Experience preparing students for international graded examinations.
Work Location
Kochi, Kerala
This is an in-person teaching position.
Candidates must be willing to teach from our physical campuses and actively participate in student performances, workshops, and institutional activities.
