We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grade Checker to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for verifying and documenting the elevation and grade of underground piping systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of the project’s foundation and overall quality. Responsibilities
- Conduct precise measurements of grades and elevations across various construction sites using specialized tools and equipment.
- Verify that all grading activities align with engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with construction crews, site supervisors, and engineers to communicate measurement results and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in setting up survey points and markers to guide grading activities and ensure consistent elevation levels.
- Maintain detailed records of measurements, adjustments, and site conditions for project documentation and quality control purposes.
- Support safety protocols by adhering to construction site safety standards during all operations.
- Assist in setting underground pipe to the specified grade, and update as-built redline documents keeping site paperwork up to date.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site work with a strong understanding of mathematics required for grading processes.
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and safety procedures specific to grading and earthmoving activities.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, transfer information to the field and interpret technical specifications accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
