About the Role
Corus Radio Toronto is redefining what a modern talk show can be.
The Brad Smith Show has evolved beyond traditional broadcast production into a digital-first, multi-platform brand built on strong storytelling, distinctive content, and meaningful audience growth.
To support this evolution, we’re introducing a new role: Creative Content & Audience Growth Creator. This is not a traditional radio producer role.
Reporting to the National Director, Talk Radio, this position plays a key role in shaping the show’s creative direction and expanding its reach across platforms.
We’re looking for a creative and collaborative storyteller who can lead content strategy end-to-end developing compelling narratives, creating platform-native video and digital content, and using audience insights to grow reach, relevance, and engagement across radio, video, podcast, and social channels.
You will contribute by:
Creative Content & Show Development
- Lead daily content ideation by developing timely, relevant story ideas, angles, and formats aligned with the show’s voice and audience.
- Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with PR partners, contributors, and content collaborators.
- Research, develop, and package insight-driven content for radio, video, podcast, and digital platforms.
- Shape narratives through rundowns, scripts, content briefs, and story arcs
- Develop repeatable content features and franchises that support audience growth and loyalty.
- Oversee end-to-end production of video podcast episodes, including planning, filming, and editing.
- Collaborate closely with hosts, programming leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Use audience insights and performance data to inform and refine editorial decisions.
- Create platform-specific content to expand reach and encourage audience engagement.
Technical & Production Execution
- Work with audio and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and studio systems such as Burli.
- Lead video production and post-production, including editing, sequencing, sound design, colour correction, and final delivery.
- Manage production workflows, including asset organization, file management, version control, and quality assurance.
- Adapt and optimize content for multi-platform distribution (radio, YouTube, streaming, web, podcast), tailoring format and pacing to each audience.
- Ensure consistency in visual storytelling, branding, and production standards across all platforms.
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Diploma or degree in media production, broadcasting, journalism, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in content development, podcasting, video production, or digital storytelling.
- Proficiency with content editing and production tools.
- Strong storytelling and content development skills across multiple platforms.
- Comfort using data and analytics to inform creative decisions.
- A collaborative, inclusive mindset with the confidence to share ideas and lead initiatives.
Why This Role Matters:
This role represents an evolution beyond the traditional producer model. You won’t just support a show, you will help shape its creative direction and future growth.
If you’re excited by building content brands, experimenting with new formats, and connecting with diverse audiences in meaningful ways, this is an opportunity to help define the next era of talk radio at Corus.
