CorsoCare Hospice Hospice Aide Job Status Full Time Monday Friday 8am 5pm Coverage Area Greater Indianapolis At CorsoCare we offer Employee First Benefits Competitive compensation including Medical BCBS Dental Vision and an HSAContinued Growth and Education from training supportive leadership and collaborationCommunity based visits means less travel timeA company provided tablet with 247365 IT supportDedicated schedulers to support flexible scheduling optionsGenerous PTOHolidays 20 days first yearMileage reimbursementTuition Reimbursement up to 2500 per yearPet InsuranceEmployee First Culture YOU BELONG YOU MATTER What makes you different makes us greatYou are part of a teamYour unique experiences and perspectives inspire othersA 1440 Culture one that strives to use all 1440 minutes in each day to create the absolute best experiences with every person in every interaction Position Summary The Hospice Aide reports to the Clinical Manager and is expected to function as a member of the health services team The Hospice Aide is trained to provide personal care and related services in the home The Hospice Aide is assigned to specific patients and functions under the direction instruction and supervision of the Staff Registered NurseCase Manager the Supervising Therapist and Clinical Manager The Hospice Aide position is non exempt Required Experience for Job Title Currently Certified as a CNA in the state of IndianaSuccessful completion of certified training program with competencies including classroom and supervised practical training totaling a minimum of 75 hoursMinimum of 1 year of Home Health Aide experience in a health care or home care settingCPR certification preferred but not requiredCurrent drivers license with current automobile insurance and must have reliable transportationMust have current TB Chest X ray or Skin Test within last 12 monthsExcellent communications skillsCompliant with accepted standards and practicesMust be able to meet the physical demands of providing patient care ambulating patients transferring patients assisting with exercises etcSelf directed with the ability to work with little supervisionAvid team playerConsistently maintains a positive attitude which promotes team and optimal performanceMust be empathetic nonjudgmental tactful responsible adaptable organized and committed to the purpose and objectives of the AgencyAccountability for Hospice Aide By following the Hospice Aide Care plan andor assignment form which has been completed by Registered Nurse or other appropriate skilled professional the aide provides services ordered by the physician included in the Plan of Care permitted to be performed under state law and consistent with Home Health Aide training including the following Assist in maintaining a clean healthful and safe environmentAssist the patient with ambulation Uses safe transfer and ambulation techniquesAssist with nourishment and fluid needs including prepared meals feeding patient and offering fluidsReading and recording temperature pulse and respirationMaintains basic infection control proceduresAdherence to the Hospice Aide care planRecognizes emergencies with knowledge of instituting emergency procedures and their applicationsEncourages the patient to become as independent as possible according to the nursing care planGives simple emotional and psychological support to the patient and other members of the householdEstablishes a relationship with patient and family which transmits trust and confidentialityAdheres to privacy and security standards provided by all federal state and local authorities of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act HIPAA and other applicable state lawsWorks with personnel of other comprehensive agencies involved in the patients care as directed by the staff nurseCommunication skills including the ability to read write and verbally report clinical information to patients representatives and care givers as well as to other HHA staffWill be considered a participating member of the interdisciplinary team and be a part of care conferenceResponsibility for Hospice Aide Performs all functions outlined in the Home Health Aide Assignment SheetPOCPerforms or assists the patient with personalhands on care including bathing hair care dressing shaving oral care etcAssists patient with positioning transfers ambulation and exercisesPerforms or assists patient with bowelbladder care including use of bedpan perineal care enemas suppositories or digital stimulation as ordered catheter care not inserting or irrigation colostomy care not irrigation bowelbladder training programs collections of specimens and recording intake and outputProvides care treatment and services in accordance with standards of practice practice guidelines law and regulationsAppropriate and safe techniques in performing personal hygiene and grooming tasks Gives the patient personal care including assistance in the activities of daily living including hair shamp
