Job Description
As an Operations/Manufacturing Engineer of Optical fiber at Corning, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading root cause analysis activities related to process and equipment failures through Problem Solving approaches such as DMAIC, MEE.
- Identifying and implementing process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation.
- Supporting new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training.
- Proficiency in using statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) in process problem-solving and process/product improvement.
- Providing general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge, capable of leading projects to identify the root cause of issues and implement permanent solutions.
- Recommending and implementing permanent solutions to long-term performance issues, as well as improving existing and new technologies and processes.
- Participating in automation, digitization, and Industry 4.0 projects for manufacturing processes.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from a premium institute.
- Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and statistical analysis.
- Solid understanding of Safety and Quality practices in a firm of repute.
