Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Lead Carpenter to oversee and perform hands-on construction work on commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong carpentry skills, leadership experience, and the ability to keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship.
The Lead Carpenter will help manage day-to-day job site operations, guide crew members, communicate with superintendents and project managers, and ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily job site activities for construction, remodeling, repair, and carpentry projects.
- Perform hands-on carpentry work, including framing, trim, doors, windows, concrete, ACT, drywall, repairs, and general construction tasks
- Support crew members to ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and project specifications.
- Manage the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and other construction machinery safely and effectively.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, site logs, incident reports, and compliance records throughout each phase.
- Represent the company professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members
Schedule
- Flexible scheduling may be available
- Day shifts, night shifts, evenings, weekends, and after-hours work may be required depending on project needs
- Full-time and project-based opportunities may be available
- Overtime may be available depending on workload
Experience
- Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, repairs, and general construction practices.
- Previous experience leading a crew or managing job site tasks strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment on active sites.
- Ability to read plans, take accurate measurements, and complete work with attention to detail
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
This position may offer a flexible schedule, and some projects may require night work, evening work, weekends, or after-hours scheduling depending on project needs. Candidates with their own tools and reliable work truck may be eligible for higher pay, depending on experience and availability.
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
