About the Company
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Level 1 IT Technician to join our team in Jamestown, NY. This role provides front-line technical support to employees while also assisting with the setup and maintenance of computer systems and production equipment used in our digital media environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys problem solving, working with technology, and supporting users in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across IT support, hardware deployment, and live production technology. This is a full-time onsite role based in Jamestown, NY.
About the Role
This role provides front-line technical support to employees while also assisting with the setup and maintenance of computer systems and production equipment used in our digital media environment.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide first-level technical support to end-users via the company ticketing system
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Technical Support: Assist users with system setup, account configuration, and software installations
- Technical Support: Document support tickets, resolutions, and contribute to maintaining knowledge base articles
- Technical Support: Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary
- Computer & Hardware Management: Assist with setup, deployment, and maintenance of desktop and laptop systems and peripherals
- Computer & Hardware Management: Perform routine maintenance such as software updates, antivirus scans, and system diagnostics
- Computer & Hardware Management: Image and reimage computer systems as needed
- Computer & Hardware Management: Deploy new equipment to users and manage hardware replacements
- Computer & Hardware Management: Maintain hardware inventory, including ordering and tracking components
- Event Production Assistance: Assist in preparing and testing production equipment as needed, including Camera equipment and microphones, Lighting kits, Recording computers and live streaming computers
- Additional Responsibilities: Handle packaging, labeling, and preparation of equipment shipments as needed
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist with organizing and maintaining equipment storage areas
Qualifications
- Education: 2 or 4 year degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or related field a plus
- Work Experience: 2+ Years in a related field
- Certifications: Certifications in related fields a plus
Required Skills
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 70 lbs
- Regular walking, climbing, stooping, and lifting
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively using company-approved communication systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with general AV equipment and basic signal flow concepts
- Proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to new technologies and workflows
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments and Windows 10/11 operating systems
- Exposure to endpoint deployment or computer imaging processes
- Experience with live streaming technology or content production environments
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and support documentation processes
- Basic troubleshooting skills for AV or IT equipment
