Overview
Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.
As a Clean Energy Senior Specialist, you will oversee the quality management of various demand management programs, such as energy efficiency, electrification, and demand response. You will manage the QA & QC vendors and their deliverables, coordinate with other teams to provide feedback and incorporate evaluation findings and advise your peers on best practices and methods for QA & QC project management. You will also apply innovative analytical methods to enhance the QA & QC processes within the department. Additionally, you will assist with vendor management tasks, such as invoicing, tracking, and reporting. You will prepare presentations and reports to communicate as a QA & QC lead in different forums with stakeholders, such as LMI energy efficiency programming and beneficial electrification initiatives. You will also evaluate and review project specific technologies and strategies for compliance with program requirements and metrics. Furthermore, you will perform other related tasks and assignments as required. You will contribute to the success of the group and department by creating and supporting best practices for department policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Perform quality management (quality assurance and quality control [QA/QC]) for energy efficiency, electrification, weatherization, demand response, and other demand management programs to ensure compliance with various programs savings and incentives.
- Identify risks, response, and controls to advocate for effective analytical methods and quality management processes, practices, and methods for the CES programs.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders (i.e. Evaluation, Measurement and Verification (EM&V), Strategy Engagement & Planning, Program Teams, etc.) to attain timely feedback and meet deadlines, including planning for EM&VQ committee.
- Create and develop QA/QC Plans Requests, Scopes of Works, and organizational process assets.
- Advise and implement QA/QC programs recommendations and considerations based on work performance data, information, and reporting (including root cause analysis).
- Apply innovative analytical methods to help further adoption of QA/QC best practices and areas of improvement within the department.
- Assist with Vendor management and procurement, including processing invoices, tracking and analysis of Vendor contracts, providing inputs to Request for Proposals, and Vendor reporting requirements and associated tracking methods.
- Communicate as QA/QC Lead in multiple forums with stakeholders, both written (i.e. reports) and oral (i.e. presentations), and act a conduit to bridge communication networks.
- Perform iterative cost management to remain within budget.
- Assists in completing Contractor Field Observation Report (CFOR) and Contractor Evaluation Report (CER) for vendor reporting requirements within the Contractor Oversight System (COS).
- Evaluate and review project specific technologies and strategies for conformance with program requirements and metrics.
- Contributes to the success of the group and department by creating and supporting best practices for department policies and procedures.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Support all Company Emergency Response initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant work experience or
- Master's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, statistics, sustainability studies or related degree 5 years of relevant work experience
- Master's Degree in architecture, engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, statistics, sustainability studies or related degree and 2 years of relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management (Access) tools, required.
- Experience with data analysis or survey research and the ability to apply these skills to solve complex problems, required.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences; strong attention to detail and accountability, required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions using both traditional and creative approaches, required.
- Excellent analytical, oral, written, and presentation skills; must be able to work in a fastpaced environment, required.
- Experience in Quality Management, DSM/Energy Efficiency Programs, statistical software (R, SAS/Stata, Tableau), and additional data analytics or survey research tools, preferred.

- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
