Job Description Are you interested in continuing your career in a mission focused environment? CWS has established and upcoming positions in Stuttgart, Germany supporting the United States European Command (USEUCOM). The position is required to travel and maintain residence OCONUS. CWS has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Platform Engineer / Linux Administrator. The Linux Administrator maintains highly available operations of Linux computer systems and appliances. Duties will include application integration with directory services, assigning roles, provisioning hypervisors and storage for virtual infrastructure, as well as automated provisioning of guest operating systems and applications. Creation and maintenance of configuration items and other related documentation, in approved software version control system. Monitors system performance and establishes performance baselines. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software. Performs regular backups and tests backups in recovery scenarios. The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Software installation, configuration, upgrade, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting with bility to make one-off changes and integrate changes into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Perform account management and access control.
  • Evaluates, maintains, and troubleshoots application and database services on Enterprise Linux servers. Manages Red Hat Storage and Virtualization technologies on multiple security enclaves and sites.
  • Manages Red Hat Satellite 6 servers, ensures content hosts are patched and have compliant Errata installed.
  • Monitors and maintains Linux infrastructure leveraging tools such as Dell Open Manage Enterprise, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana), Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Tower.
  • Identifies problems, works with internal and external teams to provide root cause analysis.
  • Provides problem resolution in accordance to established CITS policies, including break/fix actions.
  • Researches and develops automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Performs daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes; reviews system and application logs; and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required data is successfully backed up to the appropriate media and stored off site. Daily duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Ensure service availability to customer
  • Maintain daily backups
  • Install and maintain RHHI-V, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible Tower, GitLab
  • Perform software updates and remediation scans
  • Perform STIG validation against operating systems, application servers and databases
  • Create, work, and solve service requests using trouble ticketing system
  • Ensure server hardware is in working order and redundant
  • Produce and maintain processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain Red Hat JBoss application servers.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Enterprise Linux OS issues where they arise (RHEL6+, CentOS 6+)
  • Troubleshoot Agile Client application issues. Team members will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required. Team members will be on a scheduled on-call, and shift work may be required during exercises and contingencies. Job Requirements Education andamp; Experience
  • Multiple ServiceNow environment experience; having successfully managed and maintained Service Catalog/Portal, API Integration, Discovery / Mapping for CMDB with back-end integrations to other systems
  • BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +5 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 9 years of recent specialized experience
  • T.E.S.A. eligibility DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in Ansible, Puppet, Chef or any other automation system or product
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a shell language such as Bash, Python, Perl or PowerShell
  • Prior experience with Programs of Record and command and control systems such as GCCS-J, GCCS-A, GCCS-M, GCCS-AF, DCGS-A, DCGS-M, DCGS-AF, TMBCS, JADOCS, JTCW, AIDE, etc. Required Certifications
  • DoD 8570 IAT II (SEC+, CCNA Security, etc.)One of the following computing environment certification is required, will accept waiver if completed within 6 months of hire:
  • Solaris Certified Systems Administrator (SCSA) , or higher
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), or higher
  • CompTIA Linux +
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
  • VMWare – VCP6-DCV or higher
  • MCP – Windows Server 2012+ Security Clearance
  • Currently hold a current adjudicated Secret Clearance and be eligible to obtain TS/SCI. Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)
  • This position is required to travel OCONUS.
