THE POSITION
As a Public Health Program Administrator for the Department of Health, you help move important health initiatives forward. You support community partners, review data, and help shape programs that make a real difference. Your work encourages healthier environments and promotes fairness in access to care. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on guiding asthma prevention and control efforts by supporting partners, reviewing data, and strengthening long-term strategies. It plays a key role in promoting health equity, improving programs, and helping communities across the Commonwealth stay healthier. As a Public Health Program Administrator, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Direction: Lead the development of goals, objectives, and strategies for assigned public health programs
- Partnership Support: Build and maintain working relationships with federal, state, and local partners involved in asthma prevention and control
- Data Review: Monitor asthma trends, guide data analysis, and share findings with partners and the public
- Evaluation Planning: Develop tools, measures, and plans to assess program outcomes and improve strategies
- Communication Work: Create reports, presentations, and materials to explain program results and evidence-based practices
- Contract Oversight: Develop and manage grants and contracts to ensure proper implementation, spending, and compliance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
- A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
