Licensed Hair Stylist

Overview

We are a modern, busy salon in Adams Morgan, Washington D.C., in search of three professional, skilled and experienced hairstylists with an established clientele. We pride ourselves in the quality of our work and the great atmosphere that we provide, and we look forward to adding new talented stylists to our team. The best candidates for this position should be licensed cosmetologists with at least 3 years of experience.

They should have their own clientele and be well‑versed in all aspects of hairstyling, coloring and cutting. Reliable and team players who are passionate about providing the highest quality customer service and are up‑to-date on the latest hairstyles and trends would make excellent additions to our team. As we can offer booth rental with the occasional walk‑ins, flexible scheduling, marketing assistance, a clean work environment free of drama and competition, we are hoping to add new hairstylists to our team right away.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair styling, coloring, and finishing services tailored to each client’s preferences and hair type.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness according to industry regulations to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Utilize salon software systems Vagaro for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail transactions efficiently.
• Engage with clients through excellent communication skills to understand their needs and recommend suitable services or retail products.

Qualifications

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license required.
• Proven experience in hair styling, color application, and haircutting.
• Strong knowledge of color theory, sanitation procedures, and current beauty trends.
• Familiarity with salon software platforms like Vagaro for scheduling and retail management.
• Excellent customer service skills while confidently maintaining professionalism.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple client appointments.
