PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION :

Quality education is the credo of Collège J. de La Fontaine, and it is delivered across many disciplines: French, English, Spanish, Chinese, mathematics, sciences, social studies (history and geography), as well as sports and arts programs!

Collège J. de La Fontaine is made up of two schools (Pointe-Claire and Brossard), and since its creation, an increasing number of students have been enrolling in its programs.

The profile of our learners is diverse: from beginners to advanced students, from kindergarten to college level, including secondary school. They can benefit from private lessons or group classes during the week or on weekends.

Our teaching is focused on student success and, therefore, on improving their skills and results, but we also aim for their personal development. This is why our courses are based on interaction and taking each student’s pace into account. The number of students in our group classes is therefore limited in order to encourage these exchanges and to consider the profile of each learner.

We are currently looking for a mathematics teacher to take charge of secondary/CEGEP students, online or in person (Pointe-Claire).

REQUIRED SKILLS

Mastery of spoken and written English is required.

Excellent interpersonal skills with students and strong teaching abilities.

Hold a university degree related to the subject taught.

Have teaching experience abroad or in intercultural environments.

Have teaching experience at the secondary level.

Accept flexible schedules.

Have no criminal record.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Create and/or apply didactic and pedagogical materials (lessons, assessments).

Plan lessons and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

Correct homework and assessments.

Know how to motivate students through interactive and dynamic classroom management.

Have a strong team spirit.

COMPENSATION

$25–$45 per hour, depending on experience.

Part-time position.

Possibility of full-time employment with benefits in the event of a successful collaboration.
