The Role
As a BI Platform Administrator / Cognos Administrator, you will make an impact by designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise BI platforms—primarily IBM Cognos—across development, testing, and production environments. You will be a key member of our data and analytics technology team, partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing BI ecosystems.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead installation, configuration, and upgrades of IBM Cognos in DEV, UAT, and PROD following IBM best practices.
- Implement deployment topologies that support scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Automate installation and configuration using scripts, templates, and repeatable processes.
- Lead environment migrations to new Cognos servers, including environment refresh and configuration validation.
- Perform performance tuning including memory optimization, dispatcher and service configuration, and cache management.
- Recommend architectural improvements, server sizing, and high‑availability configurations.
- Configure and manage data sources across Snowflake, Postgre
SQL, Sybase, Oracle, and other databases.
- Manage load balancing across Cognos Dispatchers and Gateways.
- Partner with offshore teams, business users, and client stakeholders to ensure environment readiness and issue resolution.
- Support installation and coordination of other BI tools including Qlik View, Qlik Sense, Micro Strategy, and Power BI.
- Support additional technologies beyond BI as needed.

What You Need To Be Considered
- Experience administering IBM Cognos across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments.
- Strong background in Cognos installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations.
- Experience implementing IBM‑recommended deployment topologies.
- Experience with performance tuning, dispatcher and service configuration, and cache optimization.
- Experience configuring data sources across Snowflake, Postgre
SQL, Sybase, Oracle, and similar platforms.
- Ability to automate installation and configuration using scripts or deployment templates.
- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, offshore teams, and technical partners.
- Experience supporting additional BI tools such as Qlik View, Qlik Sense, Micro Strategy, and Power BI.
These will help you stand out
- Certifications in BI tools such as Qlik View, Tableau, or Power BI.
- IBM Cognos certifications (preferred).
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale BI platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience leading complex technical initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to improve system performance, automation, and resiliency.
Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $81,000 – $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
