About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is a key role for Coke Canada plants across the country. They will be responsible for the management of a plant in order to meet production schedules, quality metrics and cost objectives, coach and manage a team of manufacturing supervisors, and lead activities in assembly operation, machinery operation, processing or treating operation, or packaging. They will ensure efficient production of highest‑quality product at the lowest cost to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance, champion customer relations, and manage personnel for major programs and projects
- Plan and administer procedures, production and quality control standards in designated area
- Develop workforce through supervision, coaching, and training
- Manage labour and materials to meet the production schedule
- Ensure all plans and strategies are effectively communicated throughout the department
- Monitor KPIs daily and provide recommendations to solve any quality, safety, and production issues
- Develop and continuously analyze budget versus planned forecast and report monthly or as needed
- Review, alter, and approve all departmental scheduling issues
- Assist in the selection of prospective new-hire employees
- Ensure all facility equipment is maintained to company standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent required, preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related field completed
- Minimum of 3+ years of increasing levels of supervisory roles of people in a unionized environment and processes
- Working knowledge of the principles of manufacturing management
- Working knowledge of specific supply‑chain capabilities, strategies, and interdependencies
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement
- Working knowledge of national, provincial, and local regulatory requirements in the areas of food safety, environment, and emergency management
- Working knowledge of basic elements of Good Manufacturing Practices in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of key business drivers used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of an internal group or supplier
