Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Supports the Manager, Psychological Health and Wellness in coordinating and implementing wellness initiatives across CMBC locations. The role administers and supports Psychological Health and Wellness programs, events, and activities tailored to CMBC’s operational environment, including depots and worksites. Provides training, education, and outreach to employees in support of psychological health and wellness initiatives and best practices, including those aligned with the Canadian National Standard and applicable regulatory requirements. Works collaboratively with TransLink Corporate Wellness to support alignment on enterprise initiatives while coordinating implementation and engagement within CMBC.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supports the implementation and ongoing coordination of Psychological Health and Wellness programs and initiatives within CMBC sites. Promotes wellness initiatives and awareness of psychological health support, responds to employee and management inquiries, and serves as a key point of contact for CMBC wellness activities.

Coordinates, hosts, and facilitates events, outreach activities, and depot-based initiatives across CMBC locations, including wellness fairs and employee engagement activities.

Supports the coordination and scheduling of employee health initiatives such as vaccination clinics, including influenza immunizations, working with the Manager and liaising with TransLink Corporate Wellness and external providers to coordinate logistics across CMBC sites.

Facilitates and supports training and awareness activities related to psychological health and wellness for CMBC employees, including in-person engagement and educational sessions.

Subject matter expert in adapting content to support learning and engagement strategies to meet employee needs and support practical workplace application. Provides individualized consultation and guidance to employees including situations involving heightened emotional or crisis-related circumstances, exercising professional judgment related to their psychological health and wellness.

Collects, analyzes, and compiles program data to support reporting, program monitoring, and continuous improvement. Prepares materials, reports, and presentations to support program evaluation and decision-making.

Reviews and evaluates program performance through audits, participation metrics, and feedback analysis to develop and recommend improvements to the Manager to enhance program effectiveness and employee engagement.

Coordinates the day-to-day support and operation of CMBC gym facilities, including liaising with internal partners and external vendors, monitoring equipment maintenance, and coordinating equipment procurement as required.

Maintains program records and manages confidential documentation within internal health information systems to support wellness initiatives, ensuring accurate information and alignment with appropriate stakeholders are in place and are in accordance with organizational policies.

Assists the Manager with vendor coordination, service arrangements, and administrative support related to wellness programs and facilities.

Research wellness trends, resources, and opportunities to support the development and enhancement of CMBC wellness initiatives, ensuring alignment with recognized best practices and relevant standards.

Provides administrative and operational support to the Occupational Health team and collaborates with other internal groups, including Workplace Management and Corporate Services, as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The competencies for this position would be acquired through a diploma related to health education, health promotion, exercise science, psychology, social work or a related discipline, and three (3) years of related experience administering wellness and rehabilitation programs preferably in a large, unionized environment. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Adult education certification or experience is an asset.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Solid working knowledge of corporate wellness practices and programs.

Solid knowledge of standard Office tools including word processing, spreadsheet and web-based systems.

Exceptional organizational skills.

Solid planning and coordination skills to provide administrative support to a wide range of wellness activities.

Solid interpersonal and communication skills to act as a first point of contact for the program.

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, multi-task, and able to meet multiple deadlines.

Other Information

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay

The salary for this position ranges from $71,360 - $107,040 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
