Position: You will serve as a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) specialist on advanced missile programs, driving the development and execution of the MBSE vision, roadmap and deliverables from early concept through production. This cross-functional role combines individual contribution with team leadership, collaborating closely with systems, software, electrical, mechanical, guidance, and test engineers to create and maintain digital system models that support requirements definition, architecture design, integration, and DoW milestone reviews - all while ensuring traceability, consistency, and compliance with performance, safety, and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system models in Cameo Systems Modeler to represent system requirements, architecture, interfaces, behavior, risks and verification activities for missile systems.
- Support all MBSE artifact efforts, defining modeling standards, processes, and toolchains to support the full systems engineering lifecycle.
- Facilitate or support customer reviews by generating any necessary model-based elements for requirements allocation, system design, CONOPS, and verification planning.
- Perform as-needed model-based trade studies, interface management, and traceability analysis to ensure requirements flow-down and design integrity.
- Support the incorporation of documentation into MBSE models that are sourced from other engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
- Conduct model reviews, identify inconsistencies or gaps through manual review, simulation and analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Generate and maintain MBSE documentation, including system architecture descriptions, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification plans.
- Interface directly with DoW customers, suppliers, and company leadership to align modeling efforts with program needs and milestones.
Qualifications
- 2–7 years of systems engineering experience in aerospace/defense, with significant focus on model-based approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Broad systems engineering experience, including requirements management, system architecture/design, CONOPS development, and verification planning.
- Proven ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environments and lead small SE efforts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently execute tasks and drive progress.
- U.S. citizenship and current Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain one).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
- OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification.
- Experience in Product Line Engineering or similar processes.
- Experience in missile systems, guidance/navigation, or defense/aerospace programs.
