Sr. Manager BP&A– Markham, Ontario
Reporting to the Director of Finance BP&A of Clover Leaf Seafoods Canada, the Senior Manager BP&A is responsible for supporting the preparation of short and long-term financial forecasting/plans and performance reporting based on data driven analysis and financial insights to support business decisions and achieve financial goals. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop business plans, monitor performance, and identify & evaluate opportunities for growth and efficiency. This role will also be the champion for advancing financial analytics, tools, reporting and dashboard preparation. Reporting to this role will be a Financial Analyst.
What You’ll Do Here:
BP&A is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting of all P&L lines and in depth VPC (volume, price, cost) performance for both Clover Leaf Domestic and Bumble Bee Seafoods International.The role includes forecasting and maintenance of the Corporate P&L as well as liaison with Blacks Harbour controller to understand their P&L and to submit a Total Canada consolidated P&L with variance and causal analysis for these four business areas.
BP&A provides financial insights, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, to help Clover Leaf Domestic and Bumble Bee Seafoods International understand their financial performance and make informed decisions.
BP&A provides Bumble Bee Seafood and FCF(parent company) with all financial management reporting requirements as related to Total Canada. This requires a strong understanding of foreign exchange transaction impact on Canadian business as well as translation of results.
BP&A provides data and analysis to support key business decisions, helping the business areas to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
BP&A tracks performance against plans, identifies areas for improvement, and helps organizations to stay on track to achieve their goals.
BP&A is a critical function that helps the business areas keep track of their performance, plan for the future, make informed decisions, and achieve their yearly objectives.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Business Planning – annual budget, in year Forecasts and Opp and Risk assessment.
- Financial Reporting – month end reporting of variances, P&Ls, by division, management reporting presentation preparation. Understand and explain business drivers to non-finance cross functional team members.
- Financial Support – including support for innovation, SG&A spending, marketing spending, Cost and pricing strategy support.
- Performance Metrics – monitoring key KPIs, ROI on investments and tracking against key financial targets.
- Improve Processes - Improve BP&A through analytics, automation and continuous improvement of processes. Manage and improve financial models, develop new models to advance analytics for the organization.
What You Bring to the Team:
- University degree MBA or professional Accounting Designation (CPA) preferred.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in BP&A.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities.
- Track record of continuous process improvement and implementation.
- Experience working with multiple teams.
- Strong excel, SAP, BI and overall computer / spreadsheet skills.
- Strong understanding of how the business functions and ability to apply that understanding to forecasts and budgets.
- Microsoft Office applications (Excel), SAP, BI. Power BI Ability to perform complex analysis. Ability to coordinate and manage simultaneous data analysis requests of varying size and scope.
- Works effectively with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, sales and procurement; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact.Strong communication skills and ability to convey financial information to a broad audience.
- Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions; understands sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at analysis; looks beyond the obvious.Demonstrates a solution-oriented approach and exemplary follow-up skills.

Compensation
- Hiring Range: CAD $125,000 – $140,000.
- This position is eligible for an annual bonus of up to 15%, based on company performance in accordance with the company bonus plan.
- Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as location, relevant experience, individual skill set, and internal equity.
