Senior Cloud Engineer - Azure

Roles and Responsibilities :

**- Design and build Python-based platform services and automation that interact with Azure's control plane (ARM, Resource Graph, Monitor, Activity Log, Cost Management).

• Own and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for the platform — Terraform and/or Bicep — including environment provisioning, networking, identity, and secrets.
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps Pipelines / GitHub Actions) for the team's services and tooling.
• Run platform services reliably on Azure: observability, alerting, capacity, on-call hygiene, and incident response.
• Implement automation around resource inventory, telemetry ingestion, scheduled jobs, and data pipelines on the Azure side.
• Contribute to architecture decisions on consuming Azure APIs at scale — rate limits, retries, throttling, partitioning across tenants and subscriptions.
• Harden security and access posture: managed identities, RBAC, Key Vault, network boundaries.
• Conduct Azure architecture and Well-Architected reviews of customer environments — assess workloads across cost, reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence.
• Translate technical findings into clear, prioritised recommendations and present them to customer engineering teams.
• Partner with customers through implementation — answering follow-up questions, validating remediations, and course-correcting when real-world constraints emerge.
• Identify opportunities for cloud cost optimisation, rightsizing, and architectural improvements as part of the review work.
• Improve internal review tooling so each review runs faster, deeper, and more consistently than the last.
• Mentor junior engineers and freshers ramping up on Azure; raise the team's Azure baseline.**

Job Requirements :

**- 4–7 years of backend / platform engineering experience.

• Strong Python development skills — production services and tooling, not only scripts.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on production Azure experience, with depth across:
• Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Resource Graph, and the Azure REST API surface.
• Identity & access — service principals, managed identities, RBAC, Entra ID.
• At least one IaC tool — Terraform preferred; Bicep / ARM templates acceptable.
• Azure Monitor, Log Analytics (KQL), Activity Log.
• Azure Storage, Key Vault, and core networking (VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints).
• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
• Strong Linux fundamentals; comfortable on the command line.
• Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes (AKS exposure is a plus).
• Solid debugging and operational skills — comfortable owning production services.
• Git-based workflows and code review discipline.

Impact of the RoleThe candidate will be one of the senior Azure builders on the team, with influence on two surfaces at once: the production environments of CloudKeeper's customers, and the internal platform that scales the team's ability to serve more of them. There is a clear runway to lead larger pieces as the Azure business grows.****
