Role Summary:
Our Windsor Branch is looking for a Level 1 Security Technician (Installation) to join the team. The main job duties and responsibilities of this role is to perform installations on intrusion alarm systems, access control and CCTV camera systems. On-call rotation would be expected of the individual. This is an existing vacancy.
This role is a unionized position, and the successful candidate must be able to join the local union (IBEW 773).
Job Responsibilities:
· Communicate with customers to identify the source of the problem and make recommendations for improvement for the system(s) prior to installations.
· Assist in installing and programming CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems.
· Assist in running cable/wire, mounting devices, and setting up less complex systems.
· Assist with conducting system testing, commissioning, and networking requirements, working closely with the Operations center to ensure proper installation and functioning. Document results.
· Collaborate with team members and sub-contractors to ensure projects are completed accurately.
· Educate customers on operating their security systems.
Job Requirements:
· Post-secondary education/certification/diploma preferably in Electronic Technician Certificate or Computer Networking Courses.
· Minimum of 1+ years of experience in the electronics field or a related discipline, including 1+ years of experience with security access control, CCTV installation and service.
· Basic knowledge of security products, systems and standards/codes.
· Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuits, measurements and devices.
· Good knowledge of PC-based applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc)
· Must have a valid Provincial Driver’s License.
