As a Cost Accountant, your role involves monitoring and analyzing costs to support the financial health of the company. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and reporting variances between actual and budgeted costs
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management
- Analyzing cost sheets encompassing direct and indirect costs
- Supporting cost-saving initiatives and profitability improvements
In terms of Inventory & Stock Management, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting inventory valuation for raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods
- Coordinating with production for accurate stock counts and valuation
- Assisting in establishing cost structures for effective inventory management
Regarding Internal Controls & Compliance, you will be expected to:
- Ensure adherence to cost accounting standards and internal controls
- Support internal and statutory audits to ensure regulatory compliance
Your reporting duties will involve:
- Preparing cost trend analysis and variance reports
- Providing departmental cost performance reports
- Assisting senior management in strategic cost-related decisions
Additionally, you will be required to support decision-making by:
- Offering financial insights for pricing, margin analysis, and project costing
- Evaluating profitability across product lines and services
