Cloud Engineering Specialist – GCP (Infrastructure & Platform)

Position Description

The Cloud Engineer will provision and manage GCP infrastructure required for the data platform, ensuring secure, scalable, and automated deployments.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Provision GCP resources (BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Composer, IAM, Networking)
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Configure networking (VPC, VPN/Interconnect if needed), IAM, and security controls
• Set up monitoring, logging, alerting (Cloud Monitoring/Logging)
• Manage environments (DEV/UAT/PROD) and deployment pipelines
• Support data engineering team with platform setup and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• 4–7 years in cloud engineering; strong experience with GCP
• Hands-on Terraform experience (modules, state management)
• Experience with GCP services: BigQuery, GCS, IAM, VPC, Composer
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of security best practices (IAM, KMS, secrets)

Nice to Have

• Experience with data platforms / analytics workloads
• Experience with cost optimization and resource governance

Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and ownership mindset
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Agile delivery experience

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is a future opportunity.
