THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client is seeking a senior-level Finance Consultant to support an enterprise finance improvement effort. This role will focus on financial review, process support, and implementation preparation within a broader transformation initiative.
This is a hands-on engagement working across Finance, project leadership, systems teams, and business stakeholders to support execution over an expected 6–9 month engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead financial data review activities across master data, opening balances, and transactional data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define reconciliation approaches, validation criteria, and sign-off processes.
- Support implementation planning activities, including readiness checkpoints, issue tracking, and resolution support.
- Coordinate and support end-to-end testing efforts (system and user testing) across key finance workflows.
- Assist in issue identification, prioritization, and resolution in collaboration with functional and technical teams.
- Develop and validate test scripts, ensuring appropriate documentation and alignment with business requirements.
- Drive follow-ups with stakeholders to remove blockers and maintain timelines.
- Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and mitigation plans to project leadership.
- Build strong working relationships with Finance leaders, process owners, and system teams to support alignment and execution.
- Contribute to decision-making through structured analysis and practical recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant controllership or accounting leadership experience.
- Experience supporting finance transformation initiatives, including systems implementations, process redesign, or shared services environments.
- Strong ERP experience required, with SAP exposure preferred (S/4HANA experience is a plus).
- Hands-on experience with financial data review, reconciliations, and audit-style validation processes.
- Experience supporting testing cycles, including execution, issue tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong understanding of finance processes, controls, and reporting cycles.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge Finance and technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of driving workstreams independently.
