EO-NO-162 Laboratory Technician – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Perform various clinical laboratory procedures following set guidelines and ensure all quality control checks and standards are run as required.
• Collect blood and specimen as required, following Ministry of Health guidelines, and conduct other health tests such as ECG and blood pressure.
• Practice medical asepsis and infection control at all times. All company and government regulations are to be followed.
• Routine disinfection of work area and equipment cleaning and sterilization to be done as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Technologist program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent and related experience in phlebotomy, ECG, Holter monitoring, data entry, and sample sorting is preferred.
• Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications.
• Proficiency in both French and English is a strong asset.
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A criminal record check will be required prior to hiring.

Work Conditions

• Salary range: $24.24 – $29.21 per hour
