About Us: The Center for the Study of Services (CSS) is a leader in healthcare survey research, based in Washington, DC. CSS is an established nonprofit organization with over 70 full-time staff. We provide valuable information to consumers through our brand Checkbook, helping them make informed decisions about their healthcare. Our organization is tight-knit and growing, prioritizing a positive work environment and rewarding hard work and results.
Position Overview: The Research Analyst/Associate positions will review survey materials, data files, and reports for quality assurance, learn to write SQL queries to process and analyze large data files, and learn to design print, web, and telephone surveys.
Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,000, based on education, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: This is a hybrid position that is required to commute to our Washington, DC office 3 times per week. Our current required office days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third day of your choice. Our office is conveniently located by both the Farragut North and Farragut West metro stations. Our standard office hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Qualifications
- Research Analyst - A bachelor's degree with coursework or experience that demonstrates analytical and organizational ability.
- Research Associate - Either a master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus two years of applicable experience.
- Fundamental Technical skills using spreadsheets. Experience with statistical software such as R, STATA, SAS, or similar statistical packages a plus.
- Ability to become proficient in writing SQL queries and procedures. Previous coursework or experience in programming, database development, or SQL a plus.
- Ability to accomplish tasks proactively while working on multiple projects.
- Aptitude for attention to detail, time management, and responsiveness to clients and colleagues.
