Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Manager specializing in construction materials to lead our inventory control and supply chain operations. Duties
- Manage end-to-end inventory control processes for construction materials, including stock replenishment, cycle counting, and stock audits.
- Oversee warehouse distribution activities, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment while maintaining safety standards.
- Lead procurement efforts by sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules.
- Utilize advanced data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and SQL to analyze inventory trends, demand forecasts, and supply chain performance metrics.
- Implement process improvements using root cause analysis and supply chain analytics to reduce waste, minimize stockouts, and streamline materials handling procedures.
- Coordinate with logistics providers and 3PL partners to optimize shipping & receiving operations and ensure efficient materials movement.
- Maintain comprehensive records within warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like SAP or AS400, and MRP systems to support accurate inventory tracking and financial analysis.
Experience
- Proven experience in inventory management within the construction materials or related heavy industry sectors.
- Strong background in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, procurement, and logistics coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize data mining, data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), and SQL for analysis and decision-making purposes.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (SAP, AS400), and demand planning tools.
- Skilled in negotiation, supplier management, contract development, and sourcing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with forklift operation and materials handling equipment is preferred.
- Excellent analysis skills with a focus on process improvement initiatives using root cause analysis techniques.
