About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced US licensed attorney , based in India, to support our U.S. real estate operations and litigation team . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate law , debt collection , and civil litigation , particularly in the context of U.S. property transactions, defaults, and asset recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support on real estate transactions, including contracts, leases, financing, and development agreements.
- Handle litigation related to real estate disputes, foreclosures, loan defaults, and debt collection.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and regulatory filings.
- Oversee due diligence on real estate assets, including title review, zoning, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including FDCPA, FCRA, and other real estate-related regulations.
- Coordinate with U.S.-based legal teams, clients, and external counsel on litigation strategy and case management.
- Assist with enforcement of judgments, including garnishments, liens, and other remedies.
- Monitor legal risks and provide guidance on asset protection, collections, and dispute resolution.
Requirements
- Active and valid Bar license.
- Based in India , with the ability to work remotely and overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (EST) hours.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in real estate law and litigation , with a focus on U.S. property and debt recovery matters .
- Strong understanding of U.S. real estate contracts, foreclosure processes, and civil litigation procedures.
- Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote legal environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real estate finance , loan servicing , or creditor rights .
- Familiarity with legal case management systems (e.g., Clio, PracticePanther).
- Prior experience working remotely with U.S.-based legal teams or law firms.
- Additional bar admissions (e.g., NJ, CT, PA) are a plus.
