Role Overview:
Our Vancouver office is currently seeking a Paralegal & eDiscovery Case Manager to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, reporting to the Assistant Director of Paralegals and Law Clerks. The ideal candidate will be an organized and eager professional who possesses great client service skills and a strong work ethic. This role combines eDiscovery work with traditional paralegal responsibilities, managing litigation matters from inception to trial.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing paralegal responsibilities from file opening to closing.
- Attending to court filings including pleadings and related documents such as applications, appeals, motions, affidavits, writs of execution and garnishments.
- Managing evidence including assisting clients with the identification, preservation and collection of documents, managing the review, production and presentation of evidence.
- Preparing project plans and budgets.
- Reviewing and responding to correspondence, interfacing with legal teams and clients directly.
- Assisting with the preparation of Examinations for Discovery, mediations, motions and trial.
- Summarizing examination for discovery transcripts and management of outstanding discovery requests and answers.
- Drafting and assembling legal documents which may include pleadings, list of documents, pre-trial conference memos, mediation briefs, motion records, affidavits, bills of costs, etc.
- Assisting with arbitration or trial preparation including, organizing and preparing trial exhibits, briefs and binders, scheduling, coordinating and communicating with clients, experts and lay witnesses.
The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:
- A minimum of 5+ years experience working as a paralegal in a law firm.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institute or commensurate experience.
- Experience with eDiscovery databases such as Reveal and iPro Eclipse.
- Experience with large document management matters in an electronic format.
- Knowledge of eDiscovery best practices, procedures, and technology.
- Computer literate with strong working knowledge of legal software and standard software.
- Ability to work independently and assume ownership of a file.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness.
- Outstanding time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work proactively with lawyers to manage deadlines.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) including the ability to manage clients, and all levels of lawyers and legal professionals.
- Maturity, consistency of approach and ability to relate to all levels of lawyers and legal professionals.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 Annually
