Senior Software Engineer, Internal Platform

The Role

We’re looking for the next member of our platform team. At Carrot, we have a duty to our members and customers to provide a stable, compliant, and performant platform and the internal platform engineer will help guide the development of our services on our cloud infrastructure.

• This role will report to the Engineering Manager for Internal Platform.

Minimum Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of experience of post grad software engineering or equivalent experience.
• You have 2+ years of experience in cloud networking and have had exposure to security components such as firewalls and virtual networks.
• You view software engineering as a craft and welcome the opportunity to share knowledge with fellow enthusiasts.
• You find learning new tech and patterns exciting and love experimenting.
• You understand the balancing game an engineer has to play weighing new feature development with technical debt.
• You take pride in our mission: to provide access to fertility care and family-building support — for everyone, everywhere.
• You have an interest in systems engineering and administration and feel comfortable advocating for disparate requirements across security, infrastructure, and product teams.
• You care deeply about DevEx, maximizing the time our engineers can spend writing product-focused code.

Preferred:

• You have 2 or more years of experience in a platform, infrastructure, cloud, or developer experience team.
• Experience and knowledge of cloud infrastructure best practices, particularly with a eye towards security and compliance.
• You love following industry tech trends; looking for an opportunity to find anything that can level-up our engineering team.
