Job Description

The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the hospital operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies. This role oversees compliance programs, risk management, audits, and staff training to maintain ethical and legal standards in patient care and hospital operations..

1. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, government laws, and accreditation standards (e.g., NABH, JCI, local health authorities).
  • Monitor updates in healthcare laws and implement necessary changes.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors.

2. Policy Development & Implementation

  • Develop, review, and update hospital compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure policies align with legal and ethical standards.
  • Promote a culture of compliance across departments.

3. Audits & Risk Management

  • Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track and report compliance metrics to senior management.

4. Training & Awareness

  • Design and conduct compliance training programs for hospital staff.
  • Educate employees on ethical practices, patient rights, and data privacy.
  • Ensure staff adherence to compliance standards.

5. Incident Management

  • Investigate compliance violations, complaints, and incidents.
  • Maintain records of violations and corrective actions.
  • Report serious issues to senior leadership and authorities when required.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain compliance records, reports, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports for management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure proper documentation for inspections and accreditation.

7. Data Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Ensure compliance with patient data protection laws (e.g., HIPAA-like standards, local regulations).
  • Safeguard patient information and hospital data systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, Nursing, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (MHA/MBA/LLB) preferred.

Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in healthcare compliance, hospital administration, or regulatory affairs.
  • Experience with hospital accreditation processes (NABH/JCI) is highly desirable.
