Women's Care is a 150+ group of OB/GYNs located throughout Greater Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland.
The Billing
Specialist is a detail-oriented person responsible for managing the billing process in an accurate and timely manner. This position will be responsible for addressing any billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Receive and post payments from patients accurately.
- Responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and payment options.
- Responsible for maintaining billing records logs and documentation.
- Collaborate with Practice Administrator and Clinical team to ensure proper coding of services.
- Assist in the preparation of billing reports and audits as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred education: Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and/or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office with CPT/ICD-10 coding and insurance guidelines. Preferably in Ob/Gyn office.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service skills in handling patient questions and concerns with professionalism, empathy and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and problem-solving patient concerns or conflicts.
- Ability to work independently or collaborate in a team environment.
Work Schedule
- In-person
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
